In this study, spalling properties, internal temperature, water vapour pressure and restrained stress of 40, 60, 80 and 100 Mpa concrete were evaluated using ring-type restrained concrete specimen. Also, the effect of water vapor pressure and thermal stress on the spalling of concrete according to compressive strength was investigated. As result, spalling was found to occur in concrete of 60 Mpa or higher. This is because the higher the compressive strength of concrete was, the greater the water vapor pressure that was generated in the independent pore during heating. Similarly, the higher the compressive strength was, the greater was the thermal stress. As a result, it was confirmed that the restrained stress became larger in proportion to the expension stresses, such as water vapour pressure and thermal stress. Therefore it is considered that these results are valid for evaluation of the spalling properties of concrete according to the compressive strength using ring-type restrained concrete specimens.
