ABSTRACT
In this study, the effects of slightly coarser soda-lime glass powder (GP) on the strength and micro
structure of Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag (GGBS) was investigated. Compressive strength,
water absorption & apparent porosity, were experimentally determined for the GGBS blends
containing 1-100% GP. While SEM analyses was conducted to determine the homogeneity &
elemental composition of these paste. Study reveals the improvement in strength and porosity with
the incorporation of glass powder up to 30% of weight of GGBS. Denser and compact structure for
samples containing 30% GP was further confirmed from SEM analyses. Increasing glass powder
above 30% produce the loose matrix results in strength loss.
