ABSTRACT This study evaluates the influences of fiber types on the scabbing of concrete slabs subjected of projectile impact. The scabbing on the rear side occurred by tensile stress and strain which caused by shock wave that transmitted to the rear side. In order to reduce the fracture of concrete on the rear side, the study of impact resistance of fiber reinforced concrete was performed. Fiber-reinforced concrete has been improved flexural and tensile performance by the cross-linking action of the fiber, and the scabbing on the rear side by the projectile impact was inhibited. However, there is a difference in flexural and tensile performance and impact performance improvement by the type of reinforcing fiber. If the type of the reinforcing fibers are different, it is necessary to consider the flexural and tensile performance of the concrete with form and mechanical properties of fibers or the number of fiber. |
